Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to people and stay true to your authenticity.
A few months ago I attended a seminar conducted by a professor and an archeologist of ancient Egypt. To some this may not seem interesting and honestly I was asking myself what was I doing there. However, the seminar change my perception on the subject and turned out to be interesting. The archeologist brought along some samples of rocks and stones and pictures of drawings from what they said were from hundreds of years ago. During their lecture they allowed us to touch and feel these rocks and explained some of the symbols behind the pictures. As a designer this got me to thinking how amazing it is that these designs have lasted the test of time and are enjoyed thousands of years later. This also got me to thinking how we as creative professionals need to stay true to our authenticity and stop comparing ourselves and our art to others and just stay true to who we are. To just create authentic designs. In doing this our art will stand the test of time and be something cherished and admired for years to come. So as we launch into this new season, new month, new day. Let us stop to just be. Be happy for who we are and what we have to offer. In the long run, think of how others will cherish what we leave behind. Happy September!
